Space design closer to people

2021.07.06

From December 1st to 3rd, the 2020 China Interior Design Week and the 2nd Greater Bay Area Life Design Festival with the theme of "Restart Future" was successfully concluded in Foshan. As an iconic event of China Interior Design Association, the summit forum joined by many celebrities was held after the opening ceremony.

Yohei Kuwano, Design Director of You Living, a famous Japanese designer who have won IF award and GOOD DESIGN award many times, was invited to join the summit forum. As a keynote speaker, he shared the interior design trend in post-covid era.

1. Concept of interior design in new era

"With the advancement of social software and social networking sites, we have ushered in an era where lifestyles can be self-promoted. Interior design is like people’s clothing and can be seen by more people. Therefore, it is an era when everyone can see good design easily" said Mr. Yohei Kuwano, "Like in Northern Europe, interior design has thrived when travel was restricted, and their style was liked by people around the world" Design can be spread on new media and touch your eyes, body and even soul.

2. A space design closer to humans

The concept of "inevitable design" derived from the human body that Mr. Kuwano has always advocated is based on practical aesthetics and it aims to create a relaxing and pleasing living space with natural and effortless design.
On the forum, from a more specific and multi-dimentional perspective, Yohei Kuwano explained what is more human-friendly space design: taking the human body as the benchmark for design, the shape of the human body, the materials friendly to the human body, and wood that resembles human skin color and incorporate human body elements to evoke people's instinctive perception. Therefore, it is not the space that determines the design, but the objects close to the human body, which can bring us more sense of security with color and attachment.

In the future, You Living will continue its ideology of space design that is closer to people. With a simple and airy design style, pivoting on users needs and human living experience, we will combine inevitable design with natural materials, making furniture a reliable and warm fellow in people’s lives and to bring a decent life to more youn consumers!
